Although baby pictures prove otherwise, many will swear Ryan Maloney must have been born with not only a mind full of sarcasm, but also an alluring smirk across his face. Raised in the suburbs of CT, Ryan knew from the start that his purpose in life was to entertain others and teach them how amusing this world of ours, really is. With a keen eye for the ironic and irresistible boyish charm, Ryan Maloney has quickly become a comedy club favorite all along the East Coast. After starting out in Boston, Ryan soon decided to pursue his comedy career in New York City. Ryan had the honor of being named “Funniest New Comedian” at the world famous Comic Strip in New York, in November of 1999. As a result, he has enjoyed numerous opportunities opening for the biggest names in the business.
A Communications major in college, Ryan uses his training and unique sense of humor performing hilarious radio spots live on popular morning radio shows all across the country. No stranger to the theater, he recently received rave reviews for his performance as “Eugene” in Neil Simon’s “Broadway Bound”. Ryan is currently studying with The Second City and has also worked with acting coach, Alice Spivak and ABC’s Casting Director, Marci Philips, among others. In addition to building a reputation as a strong comedic actor, Ryan has grabbed the attention of many in the business with his writing. Along with writing sketches for radio, television and the stage, Ryan has completed two screenplays with more still in development. Ryan has recently signed on to co-write and develop a brand new animated series called Invasion of the Exploding Chickens from the Planet Frank. Collaborating with a creative animation team whose credits include several DreamWorks projects such as the critically acclaimed Mike Myers' film, Shrek 2, Ryan's scripts come to life and have already caught the eye of major television networks, as well as some of the world's biggest toy companies.
